Case study
Very fun, shows to what extent communication is key. Objectives can be different, but not necessarily in conflict.
Two simulated cultures are created: an Alpha culture and a Beta culture. The participants are divided into two groups and are briefed on one of the cultures without knowing anything about the other. The participants are then asked to interact with the other group and achieve certain objectives. A thorough debriefing session is key in raising awareness and sharing learnings.
The exercise provided numerous benefits, including enhanced open-mindedness, mutual support, keen observation, thoughtful questioning, and greater acceptance of emotions. This immersive exercise is a transforming experience for participants. They become aware of the difficulty of integrating an environment with codes different from their own, and of the importance of developing emotional and relational intelligence to build rich and effective professional relationships where everyone feels included.
