Career history
Matt’s background includes both corporate and entrepreneurial experiences including technical, sales and leadership roles at Hewlett Packard, turnaround experience in the mid market and the founding, leading and successful sale of a medical technology firm. Following this acquisition, Matt pursued graduate education at UTD, followed by ICF and SHRM certification. He began his coaching career serving the oil and gas industry, he has served as the President of the Houston Chapter of the ICF and provided oversight for the coaching function of one of the regions leading talent management consultancies. As a coach, he now serves mid and senior level executives across industries and regions.
Coach expertise
Matt ’s foundational belief that underpins his coaching is one of ownership and personal accountability. Throughout his career, both corporate and entreprenurial, he was driven by the desire to grow and develop people in service of an organizational mission. During the last years as CEO of Reliance, Matt was afforded an opportunity to work with an executive coach which heightened his awareness of the function and insight into the value it offered. This experience, coupled with his desire to invest further in the developemnt of business leaders, led him to certification and the practice of coaching.
The preceeding years of business experience coupled with the 13 years of experience in leadership development and executive coaching have allowed Matt to develop an expertise in organizational and human behavior, change management and the methods that facilitate desired growth.
