Research by Turningpoint-sponsored doctoral student at EMLyon, Charles Revue.
On March 14, 2024, Charles Revue presented the findings of his PhD thesis to the Turningpoint team and several coaches. Charles is the second doctoral student whose research Turningpoint is financially supporting, as part of our TP Lab initiative.
After 4 years of interviewing Turningpoint clients, working with some of our coaches, conducting research and analyzing the results, Charles defended his thesis in January 2024. His thesis culminated in a model that describes threshold effects in the use of (mainly digital) tools, helping to speed up and routinize work. Initially, this helps improve a leader’s performance, but eventually the often-excessive use of these tools generates vulnerability, requiring leaders to readjust their routines.
This model invites leaders to reflect on their relationship with tools, find the right balance and identify which skills they need to develop.
Congratulations to Charles, who was appointed a full professor at EMLyon following the completion of his thesis.
