#CSR – “Rethinking work” Award 2023

Students at Sciences Po’s School of Management and Impact Masters program, HR and Sustainable Governance, selected three books on how to reflect on and think more effectively about work. Their selection was vigorously defended in front of a jury of HR professionals, including Michel Mornet, Turningpoint co-founder. The jury passionately debated these three excellent books on the topics of women, care & maintenance, and time. The newspaper Le Monde is partnering on this event, which is also supported by Turningpoint. 

The winner will be announced on October 25, 2023, at an awards ceremony hosted by the newspaper Le Monde.  

What book would be your winning choice? 

• In “Le deuxième corps. Femmes au travail, de la honte à la solidarité”, published by Ecosociété, 2022, Karen Messing explores the changing role of women in the workplace, more specifically the specificity of the female body in a professional world that is most often designed for men; and the shame women can feel for being different. 

• Jérôme Denis and David Pontille, in “Le soin des choses. Politiques de la maintenance”, published by La Découverte, 2022, take an original look at the deterioration of objects and hos we care for them in today’s context of overconsumption and endless race to keep up with innovation. 

• In “Le Travail pressé. Pour une écologie des temps du travail”, published by Les petits matins, 2022, Corinne Gaudart and Serge Volkoff denounce an “ideology of haste” that has considerably worsened working conditions in today’s world. They propose a new ecology of time relations.
