We are excited to announce the books selected for the final stage of the “Rethinking Work” Award ("Penser le Travail"). The winner will be announced on October 1, 2025.
Here is a quick summery of each of the 3 books:
La Frustration salariale : A quoi servent les primes ? from Elise Penalva-Icher
This book explores the ambivalent role of bonuses in the workplace: motivational tools or sources of frustration? Intended to inspire, they often end up fueling resentment and a sense of unfairness. Drawing on in-depth research, the author questions the true meaning of financial recognition. An eye-opening read that invites us to rethink pay, the value of work, and the drivers of engagement.
Le Travail migrant, l’autre délocalisation from Daniel Veron
Daniel Veron examines how companies use migrant labor to cut costs without moving production abroad. A striking investigation into an invisible form of outsourcing, at the heart of today’s social and economic debates.
Le Dialogue social sous contrôle from Baptiste Giraud et Jérôme Pelisse
The authors shed light on how trade union activity is regulated in France. Through a rigorous investigation, they challenge the idea of a supposedly harmonious social dialogue. An essential read for anyone seeking to understand today’s workplace tensions and challenges.
We would like to warmly thank the students who did an outstanding job selecting these books, as well as our three client jury members responsible for choosing the 2025 winner: Séverine Grosjean, Vice President Corporate & Human Resources Director at Nexans; Marine Hénin-Duprez, Group Human Resources Director at Bonduelle; and Amaury Houdart, Group Human Relations Director at Euronext.
Our thanks also go to our partners Henri Bergeron, Patrick Castel, and Corinne Dequecker from Sciences Po, along with Anne Rodier and Jules Thomas, journalists at Le Monde.
