Having been intrigued by human behaviour and motivation since childhood, working in a People function seemed a natural career choice for Laura. Her career started in Private Equity over 15 years ago. Then, in the financial crash of 2009, with a desire to see the world through a different lens, Laura moved to Seville without speaking a word of Spanish. Five years later, then fluent, she was working in the HR department of one of the largest FMCG organisations in Spain and supporting the CEO with the company’s international expansion. Returning to London in 2016 to do a Master’s in Human Resource Management and Organisational Analysis, Laura then went on to hold key Talent roles in the London offices of IK Investment Partners, and subsequently, Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP before setting up Altura Coaching in 2022.

Whilst working in Spain, Laura had a coach who proved instrumental in helping her examine some of the narratives that were damaging her productivity and wellbeing. At that point the seed was planted to do similar work with others in the future! Having coached informally throughout the last few years of her career, Laura now works with emerging and experienced leaders and leadership teams across a variety of sectors. Her purpose is to help forward-thinking, high-potential individuals and teams succeed through a focus not solely on performance, but on ongoing value creation through values-led behaviour and human connection. Diversity and inclusion considerations are at the heart of her work and she believes that great minds do not, in fact, think alike.
