Professional background
Tomoko’s journey encompasses a background in the corporate world, having been part of prestigious organizations such as Goldman Sachs Japan Corporation and Nichimen Corporation (Sojitzu Corporation), where she gained valuable experience in the Investment Banking Division. These diverse experiences shape her multifaceted approach to leadership, coaching and learning. Alongside this, she established the American Kids Language Institute, where she not only serves as the founder but also as the program developer and instructor for a unique English/Japanese communication skills curriculum. Her passion for education extends to her role as a lecturer at Ibaraki University, contributing to the academic community at both the national university and its graduate school.
Coaching expertise
In 2000, Tomoko found an article about a professional coaching program in the US, but it was impossible for her to go as a mother in Japan with two small kids. Two years later, she created the equivalent ICF-certified program in Japan, and has been since then a dedicated coach who is passionate about serving people and organizations. She finds it rewarding that so many clients come back to her after several years when facing new challenges of their evolving careers. Tomoko specializes in executive & senior leader coaching, team and organization development, leadership & team building coaching and facilitation, public speaking training and cross-cultural management and cooperation.
